Forecasting future situation on the highway by big data

We are researching the forecasting method that can resolve the problems on highways, in instance traffic jam, using the past traffic data, including traffic counter, weather data and so on. Specifically, we are researching the correlations among data, and the method that can forecast future traffic state, for example the number of running car, the average velocity of the cars in a place on the highway, by using the techniques of machine learning. We are also developing the system that purveys useful information to users by the insight. Finally, we are willing to experiment the efficacy of the system on the actual highway.
